Stable Hand, Polly Shields brings over 20 years of horse management experience to Scarlet Day Farm.  She spent much of her childhood participating in Pony Club achieving her C3 rating and attending the National competition for Dressage.  She also has experience in Combined Training, Hunters, Fox Hunting, Exercising Race Horses, and working as a groom.  Polly currently owns an 8 year old OTTB mare, named Play.  The pair hopes to compete at Training Level this upcoming show season.   Polly’s strong attention to detail along with her knowledge of horse nutrition, lameness, and illness make Polly a strong asset to Scarlet Day Farm.

Nightcheck, Nell Rux brings nearly 40 years of horse ownership experience and enjoys competitive driving, trail riding and caring for her Percheron mare, Gypsy.  Nell has a wealth of animal wellness knowledge and has been a licensed animal veterinary technician for 25 years and is also a licensed EMT.  She holds a Associates in Animal Medical Technology from UMaine.  As the last set of eyes on the herd each night, we highly value her attention to detail and clinical expertise.
